Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Safe Belongings website, applications and services (together, the "Service"), operated by ACN 699 263 057 Pty Ltd, trading as Safe Belongings ("we", "us", "our"), an Australian company. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. The Service

Safe Belongings is a software platform that gives physical items secure digital identities. Each identity can be represented by a printable QR label, so anyone who finds an item can privately reconnect with its owner. Your subscription includes downloadable PDF label templates as digital content. The Service is not a tracking device, not a lost-and-found guarantee, and not an emergency dispatch service.

In these terms: Item means a physical belonging you activate on the platform; Digital identity means the secure record we create for that item; QR label means a printable representation of a digital identity; Subscription means your access to the Safe Belongings software platform.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or have parental consent, to create an account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by uploading unlawful content, sending abusive messages through the return portal, attempting to identify helpers without their consent, or interfering with the operation of the Service.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Safe Belongings sells software subscriptions and digital services only. Payments for subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (and its affiliates) as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, currency conversion, applicable taxes (including GST and VAT where required), customer billing enquiries, and subscription renewals on our behalf. Receipts and invoices are issued by Paddle. Prices are shown in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel future renewals.

5a. Digital content and printing

Your subscription includes downloadable PDF label templates. Customers may print them using any printer, print shop or label supplier they choose, at their own cost. Safe Belongings does not currently print or ship physical labels. No shipping, delivery or freight applies to this subscription.

6. Content and privacy

You retain ownership of the content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely to operate the Service. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable rights.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes will be handled in the courts of the jurisdiction where you reside, to the extent required by law.
